LIES ALLENDALE FARM

WHAT IS ALLENDALE FARM:
It is a SMALL FARM, run by a Husband and Wife team, producing SUSTAINABLE, ETHICAL and WHOLESOME food.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE THE FOLLOWING:      

  • A pasture based SHEEP DAIRY and ARTISANAL CHEESERY as the primary focus.

  • With a secondary Pastured Livestock (Pigs/Ducks/Chickens) component which is integrated with and complements our primary operation. In a way that is symbiotic, holistic and in concert with nature.

  • In addition create vertically integrated Artisanal Products, that are both mouth-watering and nutrient dense, by making use of the farm’s own produce. Which we offset as close as possible to the farm.

  • This in an effort to make the farm more economically and ecologically resilient and also to help contribute to creating a community enriching Local Food Network. Which all would combine to provide us with a sustainable and satisfying Quality of Life.
                                                                
THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES BY WHICH WE WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS:
  1. Applying Regenerative Farming Practices (It all starts with the Soil)
  2. Rearing Heritage Livestock Breeds (Genetic Conservation and Climate Adapted Animals)
  3. Making use of Outdoor Livestock Production Systems (Better for Them, Better for Us)
  4. Maintaining Compassionate Husbandry and Animal Welfare Standards (It's a Farm not a Factory!)
  5. Incorporating Artisanal Value Adding (Vertical Integration)
  6. Offsetting produce through Localized Direct Marketing (Farm to Plate)
  7. Employing Fair and Ethical Labour Practices (Speaks for Itself)
